“Do anything, but let it produce joy.” ― Walt Whitman
My husband, Steve and I recently spent a couple of weeks taking a coastal road trip up north from our home in Bandon. We stayed a week in the Newport area and then a week in Seaside. The very high tides coupled with a tumultuous, winter sea, provided us with quite a snow, I mean show! The waves were churned up and crashed to the shore in a creamy, batter-like fashion! Oregonians were out in great numbers to witness a winter sea storm that their state is famous for. Both children and adults shrieked with delight as eddies of foam blew everywhere. The white fluff traveled as far as across the road and Seal Rock was fully covered with a creamy white blanket as if it had just snowed. We couldn’t believe our eyes! Due to the winds and constant mist it was a challenge to shoot but a very welcome one. What a blast!

This series is another amazing one from you! Too good, looks like it was all milk floating about! The blue hues accentuate the frame so nicely!

These are amazing. I was watching the foam at Simpson Beach/Shore Acres but I don’t have as good of a camera as Susan. Now I can share her site with others that I was trying to explain to about the foam!
Thank you,Susan!
Thank you for sharing my photos, June! I’m sure Simpson Reef was awesome on this day too!!! Lucky we live in Oregon! See you on the sand!
These are great images and really convey the strength and wildness of the winter ocean! And some of them do look like snow! Glad you enjoyed yourself and looking forward to seeing more of your travels!
So kind of you to comment here, Ginger! It’s always good to hear from you. I know that you are probably shooting up a storm in your own continued travels! So glad you’re staying in touch! Let me know where you’ve been lately!
